Standards

Editorial Policy

Sourcing, checking, bylines, dates and commercial links, set out so you can judge what you read on Yoy Sheets.

The standard we hold ourselves to

This page describes how Yoy Sheets is made. It is here so that you can decide how much weight to give anything else on the site.

Publication dates

The date you see is real. A tidy up of wording leaves it alone; only a change to what the piece recommends moves the modified date, along with a note saying so.

From notes to published page

  1. The writer collects what they already know and marks the parts they cannot support.
  2. Those parts are checked against a primary source, an operator document, or direct experience.
  3. What survives step two goes into the draft. What does not is cut.
  4. A second person reads the draft for claims that sound firmer than the evidence behind them.

How the site earns

Yes, some outbound links pay. What they pay for is the hosting bill, not the wording of the assessment sitting next to them.

Nobody has ever bought the removal of a fair criticism here, and the ones who try mostly hand us the material for the next article.

What we will not publish

  • Guarantees. Nobody in this field can honestly offer one.
  • Filler written to occupy a topic rather than to answer it.
  • Anything we would be embarrassed to defend in person.

What earns a page

The list of what to cover writes itself from the inbox and from our own dead ends. When the same gap turns up a second or third time, it stops being a note and becomes an article.

Accountability

Nothing is published anonymously. A name on a page means somebody can be asked about it later, and that is the only accountability a small site has.

Nora Aldridge, Bedding and home comfort writer. Nora writes about what makes bedding genuinely comfortable, cutting past marketing claims to how sheets actually feel and last.

Devon Mercer, Textiles and materials writer. Devon explains the fabrics behind bedding and clothing, helping readers understand what they are really buying.

Ingrid Solveig, Sleep and care writer. Ingrid covers sleep habits and the practical care that keeps bedding fresh, drawing on plain research rather than hype.

Corrections

Send the page and the problem to [email protected]. Typos are fixed silently. Facts are fixed quickly. Conclusions that turn out to be wrong are corrected in the open, with a note saying what we previously said.
